SMS/MMS messaging...
...in nightclubs, discos and concerts

SMS text messaging is an exciting new feature that helps draw patrons to your club. Your customers interact with each other by using the SMS (short message system) text messaging feature on their cell phones. Their chatting is displayed on TV monitors or screens in your club. Your customers are literally entertaining themselves.

Pangolin's Interactive Messaging Unlimited system allows you to conduct SMS campaigns that are sometimes called Club SMS, Club Text, DJ SMS, TEXT-TO-SCREEN, etc. and also helps you build a database of your SMS-using patrons. Every incoming number and message is logged. These numbers can then be used to send messages back ("Thanx for visiting tonite") and to promote special events and offers.

Pangolin's IMU system: What it does

Here are some ways that club owners are turning SMS into an entertainment and marketing tool.

  • Sample text messaging screen. Click to see a larger image.Customers flirt and chat with each other. The messages are displayed on TV monitors or projected onto screens. Club-goers love to read and send these messages.
Pangolin's IMU system lets users send or pick their own icon, nickname and color, to further make their messages distinctive.

  • Interacting with the club.  While Pangolin's IMU system runs by itself, it's also a lot of fun to have an "SMS jockey" in the loop to encourage even more participation. Using an SMS jockey is an easy way for the club to make personal contact with a lot of customers at once.

  • Requesting songs. Customers love to send in song requests via texting, instead of having to go up to the DJ booth and shout out a request.
DJs love to be able to see a lot of requests at once, to figure out what the crowd is looking for.

  • Click to see voting used as part of an SMS display screen.Voting on topics like the cutest girl, the next song, or the best player in the band. Like any contest (e.g., Pop Idol) it's lots of fun to vote and to see who the winner is.

  • Marketing and promotion. Once you get their incoming SMS number, Pangolin's system stores it in a database. You can then send them sending info on specials ("Two-for-one drinks until 11:30"), upcoming events ("Disco night with DJ Headman on Thursday") and news ("Closed for renovations next week").

Easy to set up and easy to use

One of the best things about Pangolin's Interactive Messaging system is that anyone can set it up and use it. You probably already have staffers who would enjoy working with this easy-to-use technology. All you need is a computer, an incoming cell phone number (to receive the calls) and Pangolin's software.

For display, you can use video monitors or projections, as well as standard laser graphics projectors.

There are a number of clubs in Europe which are already using Pangolin's SMS text messaging system.
