Pangolin's Interactive Messaging
Unlimited system lets you 1) receive and process incoming SMS text
messages, and 2) display them on the Internet, or in public using video or
lasers. Step 1 is handled by a program also named IMU, which is described
on this page. Step 2 is handled by an SMS text display program such as
Video Messaging Unlimited. The text
below describes how IMU's output can be posted to an Internet web page.
Output VMU to the Internet
You can run SMS chat sessions and
voting on any website, using IMU along with a collection of Java
and Adobe FLASH
components available (separately) from Pangolin. There is a Java server to
install at your website, and an Adobe FLASH client that you embed into web pages
(it is automatically downloaded to the viewer's web browser when they
access the web page).
It is easy to do
web-based SMS promotions using our components, with the result being
a VMU-like screen that viewers see on a web browser. You can set up
different windows and screens using standard web page creation techniques.
Our components allow you to create web pages with different areas
devoted to:
-
graphics (bitmaps such
as JPEG and GIF files)
-
text
-
scrolling text such as
"Call 212-555-1212 to send your text message"
-
SMS chat
-
SMS voting
-
live or pre-recorded
video (media files)
Then, when you run your
event, anyone browsing to your web page will see your window and its
content -- including the incoming SMS chat messages and votes. In fact you
can do simultaneous video output (to a video projector) and web output (to
your web page).
Pangolin's
Interactive Messaging Unlimited system makes it easy for you to go worldwide with
your SMS event or venue! If you have the IMU system, and want to
add web capabilities, contact Pangolin for pricing and availability on the
Java components.
Example layout
The live example
layout found here shows streaming video in the
lower right, animated slide show in the upper right, and a text "ad" at
the top. The
two SMS areas have voting and chat. If this was a live screen being run by
VMU, the voting and chat areas would change as new SMS votes and messages
come in.
