PangolinSMS, a leading provider of SMS text and MMS picture messaging
systems, provided SMS services including
Text-To-Screen, Voting, and Alerts at the
MIX MASTERS event at the Sony Ice Palace in Miami
Beach, Florida. The event is part of the Winter Music Conference, the singular networking event in the dance
music industry, attracting professionals from over 60 different countries.
With its high concentration of top international artists, DJs and industry
professionals, WMC is one of the most world-renowned events in the
business.
“PangolinSMS identifies with the hip, young
music crowd at the Winter Music Conference and was honored to be the chosen SMS provider of the MIX MASTERS event,” stated Pangolin president William
R. Benner, Jr. “Pangolin’s IMU program is used in the U.S. and
Europe in stadiums, festivals, trade shows, discos and nightclubs, and
supported by major musical talent such as Yellowcard.”
Pangolin’s
Interactive Messaging Unlimited (IMU) software allows anyone to run
SMS messaging services from a standard Windows PC. SMS messages come into
the PC from an included cellular modem. (For high volumes, dedicated SMS
message servers can also be used.) IMU can automatically screen and
process the messages, or a “message DJ” can do the screening, answer
selected ones personally, and queue their favorites for public display.
The result is a chat session that can be
displayed on any standard or HD video projector, on broadcast or cable TV
interactive shows, or even via laser projectors on the side of a building
or mountain. In addition to the chat sessions, other windows such as SMS
voting, video clips, photos and ads can be displayed on the screen. For
example, IMU ran the U.S.’s first interactive HDTV program – a half-hour
lead-in to Yellowcard’s live concert on the cable channel INHD.
“This makes IMU a complete package for
quickly setting up displays that look very professional and run very
smoothly”, says Benner. “That’s why IMU has been selected by Premiere
Artists Group to be the exclusive SMS provider for chats, display screens,
voting and alerts.”
ABOUT PANGOLIN’S IMU
Pangolin’s IMU
was used at the prestigious Mobile
Entertainment Summit in New Orleans. During presentations, audience
members submitted questions for the speakers, by sending SMS text
messages. These were displayed on video projectors, either during the
presentation itself or afterwards, during the Q&A session. Both modes
worked extremely well, producing thoughtful questions throughout the
presentations.
ABOUT PANGOLIN
Pangolin is the world leader in laser display
systems. Over 80% of professional laser shows, worldwide, use Pangolin’s
Lasershow Designer 2000 system. LD2000 has won
more technical and artistic international awards than all other laser
display systems combined.
Pangolin’s IMU system for SMS texting was
first implemented for laser projectors. It was later expanded to handle
video. A single IMU video screen can have various windows with live or
recorded video, SMS text messages, SMS voting polls, scrolling text,
advertising, and graphics. More information is at
